Senior WebSphere Engineer (PERMANENT)
Washington, DC
Salary =E2=80=93 up to $110,000 max =E2=80=93 depending on experience

xScion Solutions is a leading professional services firm in the Washington, DC area supporting commercial clientele. We are currently seeking an experienced WebSphere Engineer to support a key client based in Washington, DC. This would be a 6 month temporary to permanent contract with our client and is a very exciting role.

NOTE: Candidates must be local to the Washington, DC area and have US work authorization =E2=80=93 US Citizenship, Green Card or EAD. No exceptions =E2=80=93 we will not work on a Corp-to-Corp basis.

Duties

To perform daily maintenance of production, staging, integration, and performance testing of WebSphere environments. To lead the architecture, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of new WebSphere systems in support of Navy Federal's online banking and internal applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Demonstrated extensive experience with at least 2 of the following operating systems: AIX, Red Hat Linux, IBM pSeries, and related hardware and software as evidenced by current certifications or the equivalent in experience and training: IBM Certified Systems Expert - pSeries Enterprise Technical Support IBM Certified Systems Expert - p5 and pSeries Enterprise Technical Support AIX 5L RHCE - Red Hat Certified Engineer

Solid understanding of Internet concepts (e.g., firewalls, web browsers, TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, etc.)

Solid understanding of J2EE 1.2 and J2EE 1.3 technologies (e.g., JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, JAAS, etc.), SOA

Demonstrated extensive experience with designated software and tools (e.g. WAS, HACMP, Clustering, Performance Tuning, Load Testing) as evidenced current certifications or the equivalent in experience and training: IBM J2EE Certification IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server IBM Certified System Administrator
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired

Bachelor's degree in technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics

Experience working in a 24/7 enterprise environment

Demonstrated experience in a networked Unix /Linux server production enterprise environment
