POSITION PURPOSE:

Under direct supervision, performs general tasks to aid in the ongoing support of a multi-customer Windows/Unix environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Configure servers and required supporting equipment.

? Troubleshoot and resolve server related issues in a moderately complex Windows server environment.

? Perform backups using Netbackup and/or Legato Backup Software.

? Assists with end-user questions and problems via Ticketing System.

? Support of various Windows based applications, operating systems, software and peripherals and may also troubleshoot hardware problems on various Platforms.

? Support of Windows Based Domains including NT4, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003.

? Support of Microsoft Exchange Messaging 5.x and 200X.

? Conducts research on new technology as requested.

? As necessary, learn new technologies, which will aid in supporting the current server and future environment.

? Must maintain a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.

? Take a proactive approach to improving the environment and be solution oriented.

? Participate in ongoing training.

? This position may require bending, lifting, and/or pulling.

? Maintain regular, predictable attendance.

? Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Must have at least five years of experience with Windows OS based servers in a networked environment, or equivalent.

? Strong background in Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange required.

? Must have a good understanding of industry standard server support practices.

? Thorough understanding of hardware as it relates to a basic and complex server configurations.

? Individual will have a thorough understanding of Network topology in a mixed vendor data center environment.

? Be able to work independently as well as function as a team member within an I. S. support environment.

? Intermediate systems integration and testing experience.

? Able to escalate and communicate technical issues.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experiencedf-tc
