Senior System Administrator (Senior Windows Admin- Server Engineering Deployment)

The candidate must possess in-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows server 2008. Responsibilities will include working/leading the data center consolidation/migration teams. The project consists of migrating from older Microsoft platforms to new window server 2008 platform. The position will require the ability to work closely with all support teams and customers. This candidate will also carry an MCSE certification for either Windows 2008. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the ITIL approach to IT service management for level three positions. The position requires min 40hr week which may include working Sunday-through Thursday as the scheduled work week. All Production migrations will be executed during the Sunday maintenance Windows (4am-10am). All QA/DEV environments will be migrating in the Wednesday, 6pm-Midnight change window.

Skills Required: 

• The ideal candidate will carry MCSE Server 2008 certification.
• The ideal candidate should also possess additional technical Window certifications.
• The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Wintel server infrastructure with a minimum of six years hands-on experience supporting server infrastructure.
• The ideal candidate should possess technical skills in troubleshooting a Windows server operating system, virtualization troubleshooting, and Intel server hardware issues.
• Candidate must understand server and OS migration processes.
• Additional roles include the understanding of ITIL change control related processes.
• As part of 2008 Server migration team, the candidate will be responsible for coordination/planning/analysis and implementing changes with the Change Control tool.

Skills Preferred: 

• A candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, process improvement skills and also the ability to lead the migration team in accomplishing all milestones.
• A candidate with excellent written and oral communication skills as well as experience in project management is preferred.
• The ideal candidate would have Wintel server hardware and Windows operating system troubleshooting skills and experience with both Dell and IBM server hardware.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic Scripting is preferred.

Experience Required: 

• An excellent candidate will have a working knowledge of Wintel server infrastructure with a minimum of six years hands-on experience supporting server infrastructure in a large enterprise environment.
• In depth knowledge and several years experience on OS/server migration processes.
• Knowledge of scheduling, analysis planning and implementation of server change control tasks.

Experience Preferred: 
Prefer a candidate who has experience with Tivoli server monitoring as a server monitoring solution and enterprise level experience supporting 100 Servers within a data center environment.

Education Required: 
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. MCSE or MCSA certified

Education Preferred: 
Master's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred., MCSE certified, MCSA certified or MCTS.
