Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an on a contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading company in Richardson, TX

Our client is seeking a strong and experienced Wireless Engineer with 8+ years of experience in wireless network design and expert knowledge of wireless protocols. The senior wireless engineer should have excellent understanding of different wireless technologies (CDMA, GSM, UMTS, HSPA, EVDO RevA), with a solid background in RF planning, network performance analysis and optimization. The successful candidate should have excellent understanding of WCDMA (HSPA/UMTS) Air interface messaging, NodeB and RNC interface protocols, system engineering performance improvement of HSPA/UMTS voice network.

Responsibilities:
The senior wireless engineer will be responsible for defining tools and programs to conduct analysis and benchmark testing of wireless networks.
The candidate will be responsible for defining the Metrics specification for validating and benchmarking network performance and end user experience.
The candidate will participate in defining and sourcing software tools for network planning and optimization, data collection, post-processing and performance monitoring.
The candidate will also participate in investigating the wireless network issues of the carrier networks and customer meeting for any engineering design issues.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have 8+ years experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry with a specialization in wireless protocol and RF engineering.

Excellent communication, documentation skills, organization, troubleshooting and team player.
Expert knowledge of wireless technologies (UMTS, HSPA, GSM, EDGE) and protocols.
Understanding of CDMA, EVDO, WiMax, LTE is a plus
RF system performance analysis with RF engineering tools with measurement from Layer1, Layer2 and Mac layers.
Mastery of drive test tool (Andrew's Invex 3G, Comarco, WirelessLogix's XCAP-X, TEMS), post-processing tool (Qualitest's Gladiator, Xceed's windcatcher, Agilent's Nitro)
Experience with Mapping tools, SQL and database Scripting is a plus.
Make independent sound decisions and possess the ability to take responsibility for specific projects or definable portions of larger projects

Qualifications:
Masters or PHD in Electrical Engineering with Emphasis on Telecommunications
