Perot Systems in search of a Senior Citrix Architect for one of our largest healthcare accounts in Palo Alto, CA.

Job Role and Responsibilities:
  • Works under the general direction of the Technical PM and Server Team lead for the Epic Implementation project to develop the Citrix environment.
  • Accountable for system(s) and sub-system(s) utilized by SH&C applications that are deployed via Citrix systems, including the performance of the environment across all enterprise applications accessed via Citrix.
  • Leads design of the Citrix architecture to deploy functionality to SHC user community, including Presentation Server and Access Manager.
  • Endorses and uses approved SHC Information Technology methodologies.
  • Design, install and maintain Citrix, including patches and new releases.
  • Works with Security Engineer for Security design and administration of operating system environment.
  • System Administration of Citrix servers.
  • Works with Performance Management Engineer to ensure key performance alerts and monitoring metrics are captured to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Configuration and maintenance of Systems including servers, front-end processes, dictionaries, screens and other peripheral components relative to Clinical Information Systems.
  • Works with end user computing team on configuration and maintenance of Citrix workstations, printers, scanners and other components to deliver secure distributed service.
  • Architects the Citrix environment to support all Epic environments.
  • Works with Operations Team on Control / Release management of EPIC software and associated Citrix products.
  • Responsible for, and coordinates with EPIC Environment Controller to install application release/ upgrades on EPIC environments.

    Required Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years supporting a large scale, multi-platform computing environment distributed via Citrix.
  • Minimum 4 years designing Citrix solutions, prefer Citrix Certification.
  • Citrix SSL Secure Gateway, Big IP Load Balancing
  • Working knowledge of single sign on solutions.
  • Working knowledge of web based technologies.

    Demonstrated Knowledge In The Following Technical Disciplines:
  • Systems Analysis (i.e. Analysis of systems structure and knowledge or interdependencies of each part to the whole, identification and implementation of the best resolution for short and long term needs, etc.).
  • Internals of Computer Operating Systems (i.e. Unix/Aix, Intel).
  • Computer Programming Languages.
  • Relational databases (i.e. SQL, Sybase, Oracle, etc.).
  • Data Communications protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, GB, etc.).
  • Analytical skills related to solving complex procedural problems in time-critical situations, particularly where relations must be maintained in sensitive situations.

    Desired Skills:
  • A four year degree in a relevant technical discipline (masters preferred) and a minimum of seven years experience of increasing responsibility in operating systems, implementation and maintenance (in a 24x7 mission critical, high availability environment).
  • These requirements may be met through formal course work or equivalent level of experience.
