Description
Our client in Shoreview has an immediate need for a Server Build Administrator. The primary function of this team is to consistently build new servers for production. Every 3 – 4 months there is a new update of applications that gets rolled out by the development team. Once the applications and updates are rolled out, the Server Build team first tests the programs in a virtual environment using VMWare ESX 3.0. After all the kinks are worked out, they then begin to copy that test (virtual) environment onto physical Windows 2003 servers, which usually consist of 80 servers at a time. Finally they will go into Active Directory to make sure files and applications are authenticated so the doctors and nurses can log into the servers and retrieve the necessary data. Here's a breakdown on the main tools one would need to be most successful in this role: ¨ Windows 2003 Server experience¨ Active Directory (strictly for security/authentication)¨ VMWare experience (don't get to touch on this all the time…there are 2 team members that run with most of the virtualization setups)¨ Strong scripting knowledge (Visual Basic & Perl would be a plus)¨ Having Microsoft Scripting Knowledge would be the best as they use this all the time to add new users to Active Directory, etc.¨ Able to follow processes and procedures (you will take requests from the architect team and must build to their specs….most everything comes documented)¨ Provide day-to-day support on the servers¨ Performance analysis (monitor network flow and assure applications are being retrieved upon request)Interested candidate should apply directly to this posting or contact Ryan Pena at 612-359-4960 or ryan.pena@rht.com
