MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE Manages the Server Team that provides and maintains a productive, efficient and secured server environment on the corporate network. Identifies, recommends, develops, implements, and supports cost-effective server, backup and storage solutions for the corporation. Provides technical leadership to the Server team in planning and directing the design, installation, modification, and operation of a heterogeneous corporate server environment. Recommends short and long-term corporate strategies, operational policies, monitors compliance and results. Provides proactive communications and interface within the Technology Center, clients, vendors, and consultants. Server Team Management: Manages the daily activities and scheduling of the Server Team to ensure appropriate coverage. Monitors and analyzes performance of individual and team activities, in order to identify improvement areas; devise and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service; and create and conduct performance evaluations. Develops a collaborative, cooperative, productive team, responsible for implementing team initiatives. Generate statistical reports to help track and analyze utilization trends of server services, including storage, applications and backup. Ensures corporate server environment are compliant with established network and security standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Electronic Data Disaster Recovery Management: Researches, designs, implements, and manages a strong electronic data recovery plan for the corporate server infrastructure to minimize impact to the users and maximize availability of services. Works with Technology Center Teams, consultants and vendors to ensure a secure and reliable backup and restoration process of the corporate electronic data that will be integrated with the corporate business continuity plan. Keeps current with evolving disaster recovery issues and storage technologies, and plans short and long-term objectives. Project Management: Works with IRD management, IRD staff, and end-users to determine IT goals and directions; prepare cost estimates and staff requirements for proposed project to accomplish goals; monitor and report on tasks throughout the project; guide and review other project work when necessary. In addition, lead project teams on complex projects by providing instructions, direction, and quality assurance. Technical Administration: Manage the corporate server, storage and backup environment to ensure secure, reliable, timely services to the corporation. Research, recommend, purchase, design, install and help maintain server, storage, and backup hardware and software. Research, recommend and maintain a strong disaster recovery plan for the corporate server infrastructure to minimize impact to the users and maximize availability of services. Perform operating system and software installations and upgrades. Automate tasks by writing and debugging system scripts; evaluate and implement third-party software. Research and evaluate new technologies and market trends to help create short-term and long-term Server Team goals and objectives. Reporting: Communicates team objectives, plans, and achievements. Monitors, analyzes, and reports progress, results, and issues. Ensures appropriate documentation for methodologies, policies, procedures and issues. Provides regular written and in-person communications with management and end users regarding pertinent Server Team activities. Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills. Strong technical ability in areas of server administration including expertise in Novell NetWare, Window NT/2000, directory design (eDirectory and ADS), SAN, and backup hardware. Application experience and expertise in corporate email system (GroupWise), desktop management systems (ZenWorks), database administration, web services and backup software. Strong skills in network topology (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.). Strong project and program management skills. Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and delegate tasks in a high-pressure environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user friendly language. Excellent staff management skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership ability. Exceptional customer-service orientation.
