PSC is currently looking for a Service Desk Support Technician to join our team in Detroit, MI.


Position Responsibilities:
  • Answer calls and log tickets into Track-It for all calls and email messages received in the Technical Support Center
  • Escalate tickets appropriately to the Level 2 and 3 teams and follow escalation and notification policies (includes notifying users when Priority 1 and 2 network issues arise)
  • Perform daily procedures outlined for each shift as directed
  • Become fully knowledgeable with current version for the following types of software: Email, Document Management, Microsoft’s Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Time Entry, Internet/Web
  • Become fully knowledgeable with the customer’s network design and use of the following hardware: PCs, printers, scanners, laptops, projectors, etc.
  • Immediately resolve as many problems as possible to meet or exceed call standards as defined in the customer contract
  • Keep Manager, End User Support informed of service request backlog

    Secondary Responsibilities
  • Create, move and delete user accounts (this includes Document Management,Windows, Time Entry and Email)
  • Maintain and update email distribution groups and general information within Windows
  • Log loaner pool equipment reservations, manage equipment check in/out and maintain loaner pool equipment
  • Complete network administration projects as requested
  • Work closely with the Level 2 and 3 teams to ensure that on-going end user issues are resolved

    Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of computer operating system (Windows XP & Vista), applications and hardware supported by the Technical Support Center. Personal attributes must include: Professional conduct; strong communication skills; strong customer service skills; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; attention to detail; timely responsiveness; strong ability to work in a team environment and a proactive approach to tackling issues.

    Desired Skills:
  • This is an entry level position but 1-2 years experience would be preferred.

    Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, Technical School, or College Degree.

    Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (Master) / A+ Certification or MCP
