The Services Performance Application Engineer will work with Commercial Teams, Customers and Design COE to execute studies for modifications and upgrades of existing gas turbine and combined cycle systems in support of plant upgrade proposals. The Engineer has functional responsibility for assigned engineering work with latitude for independent action as a function of experience.

This position involves preparing performance estimates and guarantees using Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle models supported with field and unit configuration information. These studies often involve working in a team environment.

* Use system level performance models to generate performance/emissions information.
* Ensure offering is in-line with customer expectations and clarify when there are differences.
* Work with or cross functional teams of engineers to achieve project objectives.
* Promote and contribute to business initiatives.
* Coordinate with critical functional organizations to ensure proposed solutions are compatible with the unit, the customer needs, GE design standards, and establish Division quoting limits.

Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.

* Provide technical leadership.
* Document technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
* Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
* Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.
* Support initiatives to reduce cycle time and increase quality.
* Support of commercial teams or design review meetings.
Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering.
* Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired (GE employees only).

* Candidate should have experience that would demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of Gas Turbine, Combined Cycle and Steam Turbine Thermodynamics.
* Experience in a cross functional environment.
* Experience working with customers.
* Mechanical Engineering Masters degree.
* Green Belt certified (GE Employees only).
* Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* PC proficiency.
* Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives.
