Job Description:The SharePoint administrator will be responsible for all operational, administrative, troubleshooting, and support aspects for clients SharePoint environment. The administrator will utilize a large technical skill set to ensure that the SharePoint environment is optimized appropriately across the user-base as well as being integrated with other applications and areas as applicable. The administrator will also monitor and manage the overall health of the SharePoint environment in order to maintain system availability within pre-determined SLA’s. This person will collaborate across all lines of business to understand their business needs and be able to translate those needs into technical solutions.Major Accountabilities:-Perform day-to-day management and support of SharePoint environment-Administration of MOSS 2007, SQL 2005, SQL Reporting Services, and InfoPath Forms Server-Integrates monitoring systems to collect and summarize availability data for the IT systems and business applications-End-user support and troubleshooting escalated issues-Report and monitor system health and usage-Interface and coordinate efforts between IT staff, user groups, and developers-Implement new solutions to meet the needs of a dynamic environment-Develop project plans for any system or hardware maintenance or upgrades, including the application of all Server and application patches or updatesEducation & Required Skills:-A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required in Business Management; computer science and IT-related courses helpful-Five to seven years IT experience to include the following:-SharePoint design, implementation and support required-Windows server experience required (active directory and IIS design and implementation)-Automated reporting tools strongly preferred-SharePoint or other Microsoft Certifications preferred (Server, IIS, MCSE, SQL)-Certification required within 12 months of employment Knowledge & Skills:-Administrative knowledge with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Windows Server 2003/2008, and SQL Server 2005 or 2008-Understanding of Active Directory-Results oriented team player able to work well with others and self-motivated-Knowledge of workflow creation and customization process-Proficiency with Enterprise Edition features of SharePoint, including Business Catalogs, Forms Services, and Excel Services-Ability to report on system performance and analyze results to drive performance or upgrades-Proficiency with IIS, SharePoint Designer, SharePoint Web Parts, and Visual Studio-In-depth understanding of web based technologies and services-Strong communication skills and ability to interact with and influence all levels of staff within the organization-In-depth understanding and knowledge of configuration and management of the Search function inside of SharePoint-Knowledge regarding the backup of SharePoint and how to recover information or sites as needed-Ability to train others in the support and administration of SharePoint
