Description
Design, develop and manage all phases of expanding data centers including capacity and contingency planning, infrastructure development and operations procedures. Oversees all computer operations within the organization. Supervises Operators and ensures that all processing is run according to schedules and that equipment is maintained properly. Maintains current knowledge of new hardware and software and recommends upgrading to maintain efficient operation. Plan what budgetary items are needed to ensure production continuity and data centers growth is not hampered.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a staff of Computer Operators who support all Data Center operations
  • Recruit superior personnel who are motivated and experienced in the technologies employed by Ann Taylor
  • Manage training and career development of the operations staff
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures to be followed by Operations staff
  • Maintain a strict adherence to documented policies and procedures by the Operations staff
  • Ensure that all Operators on you shift are accurately posting and logging all activities, according to operations procedures.
  • The Shift Manager will have responsibility for establishing procedures and standards for various Operations hardware and software projects.
  • Scheduling data centers personnel
  • Ensure ALL Information Services that are provided by equipment in our Data Centers meets the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) established with our internal clients.
  • Research and implement monitoring/automation tools
  • Designs, sets objectives, and coordinates data backup and recovery procedures
  • Support and enforce company policies and procedures as a member of the management team
  • Strategize and develop data center upgrade and re-utilization plans
  • Be responsible as senior level escalation point for Data Center Operations technical staff
  • Participate in strategic meetings

    Required Skills
  • Good oral and written communications skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate well with technical staff
  • Good knowledge of Windows and familiar with EDP Standards and Procedures
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and peripherals
  • Minimum 2 years working in a midrange system fields
  • Good understanding of supporting an Enterprise Network via automation products, Tivoli , Legato and Track-it a Plus..
  • Ability to maintain, track, and report project status and metrics
  • Must be a strong team player with a constructive perspective and commitment to the success of the group
