Introduction:

This position is part of the IT Professional Services organization in Information Technology. A Siebel Functional Analyst - Configurator defines and implements (or maintains) Siebel functionality to meet Autodesk business needs. This position collaborates with the Project Managers, Autodesk Business units, Production Support, QA, training, and release management. This position implements existing and proposed Siebel functionality with compliance to Siebel application business process functional, performance, and security requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers information from business users and works to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Ensures business requirements are clearly documented and communicates to business stakeholders. Recommends changes in business processes and roles.
  • Acts as the business process expert in integrating Siebel solutions with back office SAP functionality
  • Works with Autodesk Project Managers and Business Units to define detailed functional, performance and security requirements; defines detailed business process flows based on generally accepted best practices; defines systems use cases for validation of defined requirements and development of QA test plans and test cases.
  • Generate and document detailed Siebel application component level design for functional, performance and security requirements as defined by the Autodesk Business units. Translate Autodesk Business unit requirements and current systems design to the â??to-beâ?? Siebel application design. Determine the configured and custom components necessary to satisfy the design. Document the relationships between configured and customized components with each business process flow. These Siebel components may be contained within:

    • Sales Models
    • Call Center / Customer Service
    • Partner Management
    • Product Models
    • Pricing Models
    • Needs Analysis
    • Quotes and Orders
    • Contracts and Entitlements

  • Work with the Autodesk Siebel Competency Center configuration specialists, Siebel Consultants, and IT teams to configure and customize the Siebel application using appropriate Siebel tools and scripting. Generate and utilize rigorous unit (component) testing procedures.
  • Assure builds adequately provide Siebel functionality as defined by the application design.
  • Identify major technical risk areas, and contribute to the development of appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Provide input for project task estimates, as requested by Autodesk Project Managers
  • Provide input to the Autodesk QA teams to create detail test plans and test cases that map to the detailed requirements and business process flows as defined by the Autodesk Business units.
  • Assure the traceability of application functional, performance, and security requirements to the business process steps in which they are satisfied, such that the Autodesk QA teams can execute test plans and test cases to validate the required application functionality for Final and End User Acceptance of the desired Siebel application solution.


Required Experience and Skill set:

  • Bachelorâ??s Degree in Business or Computer Science required.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in software development / support of mission-critical systems required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Siebel application experience; including Tools configuration, workflow, assignment manager.
  • Siebel 7.7 Certified Consultant certification
  • Siebel 7.7 Certified Business Analyst certification a plus
  • Comprehension of industry and Siebel application best practices for software product life cycles and the ability to understand the impact of business decisions on technical environments required.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative environment to build consensus and to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Expertise in Siebel system requirements analysis, and all aspects of Siebel system application and functional design, configuration, and customization.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and with short timelines; strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Must have strong communication skills; ability to influence peers and superiors.
  • Skills in managing multiple and often conflicting priorities. Must have proven success managing in matrix environments.
