Introduction:

This position is part of the IT Professional Services organization in Information Technology. A Siebel Functional Analyst - Configurator defines and implements (or maintains) Siebel functionality to meet Autodesk business needs. This position collaborates with the Project Managers, Autodesk Business units, Production Support, QA, training, and release management. Reviews, approves, and implements existing and proposed Siebel functionality with compliance to Siebel application business process functional and performance requirements. This position will require expert knowledge of specific business functions as the Siebel application allows them to be configured, such as one or more of the following:

  • Sales Models
  • Customer Service Management
  • Partner Management
  • Product Models
  • Pricing Models
  • Needs Analysis
  • Quote and Order Management
  • Contract and Entitlement Management

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Business Analysts and the business on defining and determining the business requirements
  • Analyze the business requirements and propose an appropriate functional and technical solution
  • Work with and provide input to other Autodesk Siebel Competency Center (ASCC) members, Siebel Systems, and IT teams to accomplish this set of tasks
  • Assure business process functional, performance, and security requirements have been adequately addressed through application design
  • Assure KPIs are adequately addressed through application design
  • Works with other configuration analysts and integration specialists to ensure developed solution adequately addresses application design
  • Identify major technical risk areas, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Provide input for project task estimates, as requested by Autodesk Project Managers
  • Works closely with Business Analysts to ensure understanding of application capabilities
  • Generate high level / conceptual application design for functional and security requirements. Translate existing requirements and design to â??to-beâ?? Siebel application design. Determine the configured and custom components necessary to satisfy the design. Document the initiating cause of each component. Document the relationships between configured and customized components with each business flow in which the component is initiated. Document the relationships between configured and customized components. Generate and document Siebel application component detail design. Configure application components, including

    • Sales Models
    • Call Center / Customer Service
    • Partner Management
    • Product Models
    • Pricing Models
    • Needs Analysis
    • Quotes and Orders
    • Contracts and Entitlements

  • Ensure all functional and security requirements can be have traceability in the application design documents so that QA knows how each business process steps is satisfied. This facilitates QA regression testing analysis, making it easy determine which components in which business process flows will need to be retested when an error is detected that effects previously tested business flows.
  • Configure and customize the Siebel application using appropriate Siebel tools and scripting. Generate and utilize rigorous unit (component) testing procedures.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and the QA team to perform the unit, functional and integration testing
  • Document user training materials and provide training to the business users as needed

Required Experience and Skill set:

  • Bachelorâ??s Degree in Business or Computer Science required.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in software development / support of mission-critical systems required.
  • Comprehension of industry and Siebel application best practices for software product life cycles and the ability to understand the impact of business decisions on technical environments required.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative environment to build consensus and to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Expertise in Siebel system requirements analysis, and all aspects of Siebel system application and functional design, configuration, and customization.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and with short timelines; strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
