Job Functions and responsibilities
If you are a creative, resourceful Siebel Technical expert looking to support Siebel customers in a hosted environment; architect, recommend to customer, and deploy changes in Siebel server hardware and software; analyze current hosted environments and recommend changes for performance benefits, space benefits, and capacity benefits, NaviSite has a position for you.

In this position, you will provide expert support to customer system administrators through VP level customer representatives on a variety of Siebel and Siebel integration related issues. Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for Siebel technical support. Become an expert on customer Siebel environments and be able to react and respond to issues, questions, and concerns with consideration for a customers complete implementation. Ability to recommend changes to customer systems (such as windows patches, Siebel patches, configuration changes, etc.) and be able to produce a project plan that includes preparation, testing, and finally perform the patch application. Must be able to identify performance issues within a Siebel environment at all levels including network, database, operating system, Siebel Server, and web server. Must be able to take direction from others as well as lead and direct the work of peers.
Ability to scope, document, present to customer, and implement a complete hosted Siebel environment for customers. Must understand Siebel environments well enough to recommend and implement system monitors that will notify appropriate parties in the event Siebel in unavailable. Monitor hosted systems for performance and perform daily administration tasks to ensure 100% uptime of Siebel environments.
Must be flexible enough to provide support to hosted customers and work on development projects as time permits. Must be available to participate in 24/7 on call support rotation and occasional off hours SRF migrations.

Qualifications:

Required:
Expert knowledge of Siebel server management and architecture (prior experience implementing enterprise level Siebel systems a plus),
Siebel 7.x certification,
Configuration experience with Siebel 6.x and 7.x,
Microsoft SQL Server DBA knowledge including SQL query analyzer and SQL Profiler,
Prior customer service experience supporting Siebel required,
Internet Information Server 4/5.0,
Resonate Load Balancing.

Plus:
Windows Operating system experience including file management, troubleshooting, and performance configuration,
Active Directory and/or LDAP experience a plus,
Microsoft Clustering experience a plus,
Network troubleshooting experience,
Experience working with a hosted environment,
Working knowledge of Oracle 8.x and 9.x,
Actuate Server support.df-tc
