Description
Global innovative organization is actively seeking a Software Architect to assist Product Development and R&D groups in best practices in software system architecture and design to enhance the reliability, security, maintainability, testability, and overall quality of products.

Key challenges include:
Á· Sustaining cutting-edge knowledge of the state of the art in software architecture/design and software system security, in collaboration with leading universities as needed; preparing and presenting briefings to leadership and at conferences
Á· Providing guidance to product development and R&D teams in the development, specification, and communication of data solutions, architecture plans, applications components, and industrial automation security improvements
Á· Recommending technical solutions and communicating with business units on the features, relative advantages, and strategies associated with the solutions
Á· Effectively communicating architectural concepts and proposals using UML
Á· Formulating descriptions of the performance and security attributes of proposed systems
Á· Designing, implementing, and demonstrating architectural prototypes and proofs-of-concept; coaching business unit development teams in leveraging these prototypes for their next-generation software system products
Á· Facilitating quantitative measurement of the costs, benefits, and ROI for software architecture-related improvements
Á· Networking, actively participating, and contributing in software architecture and security-related working groups and standardizing bodies convened by government and industry
Domestic and occasional international travel is required (average 25%).df-tc


Experience/Skills
PHD

Á· Strong software/hardware system development background as a developer and as a manager, with 5+ years industrial/commercial experience across the full product lifecycle Á· Systems Architecture training and hands-on experience; preferably, completion of one or more SEI courses in software architecture and/or product lines

Á· Experience with key software architecture approaches and techniques including client-server, distributed, peer-to-peer, and plug-ins Á· Experience in applying architecture description languages to efficiently document software architectures for both new and legacy systems Á· Experience with the development of architectural models and views (functional, physical, user action/feedback, etc.) Á· Knowledge of the issues surrounding security-critical software applications and intrusion detection Á· Experience in analyzing systems and networks to identify security vulnerabilities Á· Database architecture and design experience Á· Product Integration background/experience Á· Exposure to CMMIÁ® and to complementary methodologies/frameworks, such as PSPSM/TSPSM, People CMMÁ®, ISO-9001:2000, ITILÁ®, CobIT, RUP, Six Sigma, Stage-GateÁ® models Á· Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and its implications for software system development processes is desirable but not required
