Reports to: Software QA Manager

Overview:

The Software Configuration and Release Analyst is dedicated to software configuration documentation, test/development lab configurations, and software release and deployment of proprietary technologies.

Job Functions:
  1. Adheres to source code control policy and standard operating procedures
  2. Executes/ensures the backups of source code for all proprietary technology
  3. Executes application compiles/builds for all proprietary technology
  4. Participates in software release and deployments for all proprietary technology
  5. Adheres to release and deployment policy and standard operating procedures
  6. Serves as a backup for the Configuration and Release team members
  7. Creates deployment plans for the projects developed in various technologies

Experience/Skills
  1. Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or 8+ plus years related experience, must include build experience
  2. Must have knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and formal education in object oriented programming (Visual Basic/FOXPRO, C#, C++, .NET, etc.)
  3. Must have experience in Visual Fox Pro
  4. Experience with source code compiles, application builds (both manual and automated), and deployment
  5. Experience with source code management, branching, merging, and versioning
  6. Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (design, code, source control, quality assurance, and deployment)
  7. Experience with configuring IIS/WCF services
  8. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server configuration
  9. Strong knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL server 2000/2005/2008 objects
  10. Experience with Visual Source Safe and TFS preferred
  11. Experience with VM Ware Lab manager preferred
  12. Knowledge of configuration management is preferred
  13. Knowledge of ITIL preferred
  14. Self-motivation, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to focus on complex details
  15. Ability to work well within a team and project environment
  16. Ability to work under pressure on a number of different projects simultaneously
  17. Commitment to keeping abreast of technology and sharing that knowledge with others
