Description
Overall Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for translating client business requirements into an application logical design that both meet the client's need and conform to the application architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These include:
. Utilize prior systems design experience to translate client business requirements into application Logical Designs that conform to the application architecture.
. Develop an in-depth understanding of the core business functionality for specific sub-systems within our application and leverage off existing functionality to satisfy new client requirements.
. Consult directly with clients, System Architect, Client Managers, Development staff and Business Analysts to complete logical designs. This includes resolving open issues, clearly identifying and explaining base assumptions, and explaining the Logical Design in an manner that is understandable to both a Business User and a Developer.
. Conduct walkthroughs of all completed specifications with representatives from all interested areas (i.e. Development, Testing, Client management) to ensure the design is complete and the development estimates are accurate.
. Complete walkthroughs with clients as required.
. Use your understanding of development tools including PL/SQL, Microfocus COBOL, Animator, Oracle Forms, XML and java during the design phase to ensure a complete understanding of existing functionality.
. Provide regular status updates to the System Architect, Client Managers and the Release Manager on a timely basis.




Experience/Skills
Bachelors Degree is required, with emphasis in Computer Science, Math or related discipline. A Business professional with a minimum 5 years in business analysis and/or development experience in the Financial Services or Insurance Industry.
