Description
The candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining applications used by our Managed Transportation business unit located in Oakbrook, Illinois. One of the applications is written in Java and uses an Oracle database. Another application is Windows-based and uses a SQL Server database. The integration between these applications is provided by Webmethods. Position will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving application, integration and database issues. Position also involves extensive use of SQL querying, in both the Oracle and SQL Server database environments. Modifications to the software source code and stored procedures are included in this job role. Job requires an understanding of software development principles, the Java language, and a working knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server databases. The candidate will need strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Must be hands-on, technically proficient, customer and service oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Support existing applications and interfaces.
Modify and test application integration code and stored procedures.
Participate in the setup, installation and upgrades of application software.
Execute and debug database scripts received from vendors.
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to cope in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
Follow existing change management processes.
Provide after hours support on a rotating basis.

Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an applications developer with specific experience in Java, Oracle, and/or SQL Server. Ability to create, modify, and debug stored procedures in either Oracle or SQL Server.
Experience with Webmethods a plus.
Light experience with Visual Basic a plus.

Our Managed Transportation team supports two large, packaged applications that provide transportation management to key clients. These applications are integrated using Webmethods, an advanced Enterprise Application Integration tool. Our needs include maintenance and support of these applications, revisions to the Webmethods Java code, and extensions to our solutions via either custom development or enhanced integration. The relevant technologies are Oracle, SQL Server and Java. Experience with Webmethods and C#.Net would be a plus.
