Description Description Provide support in environmental setup, configuration support, application deployments, and application migrations. Provide technical assistance in resolving production system problems. Participate in investigating technologies and recommending solutions to meet business needs. Primary functions will include application deployment, configuration support, troubleshooting, setting up new environments, migrations from development to QA and production, disaster recovery, WAS security, performance monitoring and resolution, and optimizing WAS to comply with necessary programming standards. Requirements Minimum 2 to 4 years WebSphere administration experience with emphasis in supporting large-scale systems design and development using WebSphere Application Server - Network Deployment Exceptional WebSphere administration skills on AIX and Windows platforms Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 5.x and 6.x Strong UNIX skills, scripting skills, experience in ANT, JACL scripting a plus, HTTP Server, and XML configuration Experience in the following: Application deployment Installation, configuration, and clustering of WAS and WebSphere upgrades Integration of backend systems utilizing JMS, JDBC, LDAP, and CICS Transaction Gateway Monitoring and maintenance, ITCAM for WebSphere, Tivoli Performance Viewer Ability to perform initial crash dump analysis and restore WebSphere services WebSphere best practices for load balancing and fail-over support WebSphere security Skilled in issue anticipation and self-directed resolution Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel and other groups (developers, OS administrators) Good communication skills (oral and written) and strong analysis skills are essential Highly desirable skills: Experience with WebSphere MQ Working knowledge of relational databases Familiarity with Java and J2EE and Rational Application Developer/WSAD
