The Macintosh Business Unit at the Silicon Valley Campus is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong technical background to join the Office Database test team. The primary focus of this role is testing code below the UI layer, designing white box test suites and writing verification tools. You will work very closely with the Development team on the design, implementation, & testing of new feature work to be part of the next version of Microsoft Office for the Mac.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

* Strong programming skills (2+ years) with C, C++
* Excellent problem solving and communication skills
* Experience shipping at least 1 commercial application in an engineering role
* Passion for the Mac platform
* Experience designing, developing, and executing detailed test plans
* Passion for quality and improving the user experience
* Education: BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

* Hands on experience with Mac OS X development technologies.
* Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office for the Mac a plus.
* Working knowledge of test methodologies and techniques
* Experience writing white box and/or API tests.
* Experience in writing tools to aid in feature testing
* Demonstrated debugging skills using an IDE.df-tc
