Description
CDI is in HOT/IMMEDIATE need for a Software Development Engineer to join our team.

The job includes designing, coding, testing and documenting embedded real-time firmware for in-house microprocessor-based executives and/or communication modules. Works in a project-oriented environment.
Provides analysis and investigation and resolution of software engineering tasks. Supports hardware and software engineers in module-level and system-level verification and validation.

Requirements:
10 or more years of embedded real-time firmware development in microprocessor-based systems. Development experience with Motorola PowerPC (MPC860, MPC8270, MPC8360, etc.) is required.
Development experience with communication protocols is required, such as:
Serial IO, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Modbus, etc. Development experience with VxWorks is required. Networking experience is required.

Experience with formal software development in C. Experience with writing engineering documentation is required, such as: requirements specifications, architecture specifications, and/or design specifications.

Experience with software development tools, such as: Configuration management (i.e., PVCS, Synergy CM, Synergy Change, Agile), requirements traceability (i.e., DOORS). Experience with hardware/software integration.
Experience with hardware debugging tools, such as: scopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Knowledge of industry standards is a plus, such as IEC 61508, Mil Std, IEEE, etc. Good verbal communication skills.df-tc
