This position will be held accountable for the success of the software implementation, ranging from software design, implementation to testing and project planning and management. Work closely with various cross-functional teams through the whole lifecycle of the software development. Establishes operational objectives, work plans and delegate's assignments to subordinate managers. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations.*
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience in programming computer applications, Masters degree preferred *
  • 12 years experience including software development in C and/or C , Java, PERL, and CDMA experience *
  • 5 years of experience working w/ Audio/Video aspects of embedded coding including working w/ MPEGs, MP3s, and other multimedia *
  • Knowledge of software documentation, utilities and job control languages *
  • Experience working with and directing offshore developers and ODMs software development *
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and design methodology *
  • Knowledge of network protocols and network interface development *
  • Knowledge of current standard software development phases and processes *
  • Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills *
  • Excellent organizational and multi tasking skills

  • Will have to do some hands on coding also *
  • Ensure high quality on-time delivery while maximizing the efficiency of the team *
  • Take leadership by providing suggestions for improving processes and the approach in managing team and development Develops, tests and documents software programs. Plans, coordinates and oversees software development activities, milestones and deliverables Review all product documentation leading to the execution phase Works with a large cross-functional leads or developers on further understanding the product and work to uncover technical issues Performs testing and debugging of software using programming language and technologies. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance Enforces standard software practices and quality during the execution phase Supervises exempt direct reports and delegates individual assignments and goals. Reviews performance. Plans and grants salary increases as appropriate. Handles discipline and documentation steps in problem employee situations Recruits and hires staff to the organization to meet demands Provides input for the development of budgets and reports on progress versus goals Performs other related dutiesdf-tc
