Position Description
This position is for a software engineer in the area of Concurrent Test, Training and Operations for the Missile Defense National Team (MDNTB) project. The Developer personnel must possess an understanding of software architecture, development, methodologies, and UML. The candidate will need a combination of experience and skills such as Class Modeling, State Modeling, and Use Case development. Experience should include troubleshooting analysis for large Command and Control systems. Candidate should possess strong leadership skills and also must work well with the customer. Candidate must be able to put together a briefing and possesses strong presentation skills. Successful candidate will possess outstanding written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be a self-starting problem solver. Experience with various COTS products is preferred. Background should include all aspects of the software development life cycle. Background in ISC2, TBMCS, GMD, or missile defense programs desirable. Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Works under minimal direction.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
