Description
We are in need of an experienced, aggressive, forward-leaning software engineer that is fully versed in contemporary software development best-practices, technologies, and is keen to push the envelope in the web space. Local candidates preferred, but would consider a relocation package for the right person, as well as any H1B VISA sponsorship.

Some of the more pressing daily requirements are included here to guide the qualifications process:

1. Identify, evaluate, analyze and determine best-fit technologies
2. Maintain current knowledge of hardware, software, application, communication, and internet technologies relative to geospatial industries.
3. Be able to take conceptual vision and objectives and produce engineering specifications and IT architecture documents for internal or external development teams.
4. Work with sales and marketing staff for product and solution prototype demonstrations
5. Design, engineer and develop technology components and/or entire solutions for internal business objectives, and/or clients on consulting engagements.
6. Interact with client technical staff to clearly articulate solutions and understand needs.
7. Participate in initial needs assessment with prospective clients
8. Provide on-demand, technical consulting services either at corporate offices or clients offices.
9. Communicate, manage, test and certify development projects performed by external teams.
10. Produce technical IT requirement reports to enable product/solution launch, and provide initial post-launch technical support.
11. Interface with COTS / ISV vendors (ie. ESRI, Intergraph, MapInfo)
12. Leverage emerging technology to advance corporate and client goals and objectives.[ruby on rails, ajax, flex, java]
13. Create custom applications for internal or external deployment using standard COTS technology and/or emerging internet technologies (NASA WorldWind, Google Earth, Virtual Earth, etc.)
14. Distill technical requirements from prospects and communicate effectively to global technical team
15. Coordinate with marketing/advertising teams to generate demand for geospatial solutions
16. Travel as required, domestic or international, to advance individual products & solutions.
17. Manage technical and analytical staff worldwide.
18. Work with product engineers to design and develop products that solve real business problems and add value to client organization.
19. Communicate complex, conceptual strategic solutions to executives
