We are currently seeking a Software Engineer Certified on Avaya S8XXX Systems for a 4 month + contract with one of our clients in the Durham NC area.
The incumbent shall perform the following tasks as part of Services:
1) Provides technical support of break/fix of telecommunications equipment for telephony systems and applications (Avaya PBX, Modular Messaging voicemail, CMS, carrier administration, dial plan administrator).
2) Provides technical support including telephone repair or problems that require escalation for additional vendor support or require advanced troubleshooting methods in an effort to resolve all telephony trouble tickets and service requests.
3) Participates on technical project teams for ESS and Modular Messaging projects and completes Project tasks in accordance with abilities and skill level.
4) Provides technical consultation and support to other IS support areas where telephony services are administered to in an effort to apply telephony standards and customer service levels are followed.
5) Actively supports achievement of telephony SLAs, service outage and restoration activities, and change management activities.
6) Provides technical support including troubleshooting and problem resolution in an effort to resolve telephony problems and in an effort to achieve appropriate service levels, if any, in connection with customer service troubles or requests.
7) Determines whether telephony standards documentation is current and updates are completed in accordance with changes to the telephony infrastructure.
8) Identifies and implements mutually agreed upon Fast Track/SOP change documents for all routine and standard telephony systems changes.
9) Applies approved telephony standards and practices in the execution of daily support tasks.
10) Participates and facilitates vendor service level meetings and documents meeting discussions and action items.
11) Collaborates with the networking and desktop engineering groups in support of initiatives involving converged technologies and applications.
