Software Engineer - File SystemsLocation: San Jose, CAJob Description:We are looking for well-rounded developer with a deep knowledge of systems software development, including familiarity with file systems design conceptssuch as file allocation strategies, designing for high performance, snapshots, symbolic links, auditing, replication, resiliency, data compression,and de-fragmentation. This person will be responsible for developing and enhancing industry leading silicon-based file system.Responsibilities* Independently design, code, and troubleshoot major and minor file system features while focusing on delivering a reliable, high performance product.* Proactively work with other engineers to ensure consistent design and compatibility with existing interfaces* Work with QA to ensure that the code delivered is of high qualityQualificationsBS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalentMinimum of 3-5 years experience working on large scale, complex C/C projects.Experience in one or more of the following technical areas (the more, the better):* Expert knowledge in C * Object-Oriented (OO) design skills* Knowledge and application of class hierarchy design and implementation* Multi-threaded (concurrent) implementations* Working knowledge of STL* Programming with Templates* Excellent communication skills* Self motivator with the ability to work closely within a small team.Knowledge & Experience* Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering tools and technologies and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments* Experience with Network Attached Storage Systems or with software development within a proprietary hardware environment will be an advantage.* Experience with network file sharing protocols such as NFS and CIFS desired* Significant development experience in a Linux/Unix environment, including: * Bash shell or Perl scripting * Basic system administration skills* Possess a customer focused attitude* Valid state driver license requiredExcellent compensation and benefits available to the right candidateSkills:Expert knowledge in C , Programming with Templatesdf-tc
