Description
Software Developers create a vision for customer software deliverables. Using business insight as well as technical knowledge, they plan, design, implement, analyze, review, and enhance software products with a focus on quality for customers.

This position is for a Software Engineer within the Grid Infrastructure Group at Acxiom.

The candidate will be involved in design and development of AJAX components that are part of the User Interface for the Grid Operating Environment. Individual in this role will typically work directly with a team of 3 to 6 software developers and interact with many others in various roles outside of that team. The system is being developed mainly on RedHat Linux (RHEL3 and RHEL4) . Primary programming languages are HTML, JavaScript, XML, and Perl. The candidate should have solid design, coding and testing experience within a well defined software life cycle development process. Good communication skills are essential.

Required skills/experience/education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Strong web development experience with JavaScript
- Development experience on Linux or any Unix variant
- Languages: HTML, JavaScript, Perl
- Operating Systems: Linux, UNIX (any flavor)
- Tools: standard Unix tools set, Apache
- Protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, XML,
- Technologies/Middleware: AJAX

Preferred skills/experience/education:
- Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Languages: C/C++, Python
- Operating Systems: Windows (2000, XP or any other variant)
- Protocols: TCP/IP, RPC
- Technologies: SOAP
- Others: multi-threaded programming
