JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES Title: Software Engineer II Medical Summary The Software Engineer functions as a key member of the Development team for the Medical Department. Duties involve aspects of design, engineering, and interaction with QA to implement commercial medical software products. Responsibilities 1. Engineer, code, and debug both new and legacy code 2. Perform specific skills and competence in reference to research and analysis of technologies 3. Derive and design technical specifications from general product requirements and specs 4. Ability to implement from technical specifications 5. Problem solving skills, diagnose, find and test solutions 6. Ability to create and perform unit tests 7. Participate in coding and code reviews for final product 8. Be accountable for agreed upon development schedule 9. Assist in quality assurance measures (code reviews, unit and interaction test case creation, etc.) 10. Assist User Documentation Specialist in assembling information for user documentation 11. Assist Technical Support and development team in solving programming-related problems 12. Able to work with only some supervision 13. Ability to multi-task and work well under high pressure 14. Good communication and interpersonal skills 15. Works well independently as well as in a team 16. Participate in special projects and performs other duties as required Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science field desired Requirements Note: The following skills and/or attributes are REQUIRED for the position: (Only those possessing these skills and/or attributes should apply.) Minimum of 4 to 6 years of software engineering experience Minimum 2 years C# Windows Forms experience GDI+ and owner draw experience Experience creating custom widgets and user controls in C# Experience with Model View Controller (MVC) architectures Experience with Winforms data-binding Experience accessing Win32 APIs via C# Experience in object-oriented software engineering methodologies Preferred The following skills and/or attributes are desired: Experience with Avalon, XUL, XAML, etc., desired Proficiency with relational databases and SQL Proficiency in applicable object-oriented modeling languages (e.g. UML, OSA) In return, our client offers a generous compensation package and benefits.
