We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer VC++

JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties & Responsibilities Key Objectives:

1. The primary purpose of this role will be to design, modify, develop and implement software programming applications in Visual C++ in a Windows environment.
2. Analyse customer requirements and develop technical solutions.
3. Interface with customers through customer meetings and conference calls.
4. Debugging complex issues/crashes with little or no information.
5. Delivers required product features in reliable and timely manner.
6. Ensure appropriate technology is applied to solutions.
7. Provide accurate time estimates for system feature implementation and assist with project planning activities.
8. Ensure correct development and testing standards are applied to development tasks.
9. Ensure correct product/system documentation is maintained.
10. Ensure new technology is investigated where possible.
11. Adhere to software build processes.
Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required Experience:

1. Must have proven experience in Visual C++ and MFC. A minimum 3 years commercial experience developing for Windows, including some experience of COM and XML.
2. Must have proven experience in programming for Microsoft Windows XP
3. Experience of developing for many different versions of windows is beneficial, including Windows CE and VISTA.
4. Must have proven experience in all stages of the Software life-cycle (including requirements capture, design and Testing).
5. Must have proven experience in developing new functionality from customer requirements.
6. Experience of the following is considered beneficial; HTTP, web development, ActiveX, JavaScript, Microsoft Team System, C#, Managed Code.

3. Customer and product delivery focused.
4. Product Quality, reliability and metrics focused.
5. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
6. Ability to multi-task and work across several areas
7. Good written and verbal communicator.
8. Excellent standards of documentation.
