Software Engineer (multiple levels)

Summary of Position:

Creates, designs, develops, codes, tests, debugs, and documents complex software programs across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

Design software systems and components, based on assessment of software function and performance requirements.
Define design specifications.
Develop major routines and utility programs.
Resolve software compatibility and interface problems.
Implement and test new software designs.
Prepare various documents including specifications, detailed design descriptions and reports.
Maintain and enhance existing Company software, GUIs, and object models by reviewing objectives and specifications, identifying needed corrections, evaluating alternatives, recommending changes, and making modifications.
Ensure that programming bugs are identified and corrected and that users are alerted to these problems/corrections. Track and resolve programming bugs.
Write user interfaces and program code confirm program operation through testing modify program sequence and/or codes. Develop and write end-user operating instructions and program documentation.
Develop programs for solution of engineering computational problems requiring analysis and development of mathematical functions to be programmed.
Communicate with other engineers involved with project.
Perform research and self-directed study to enhance software-engineering skills.

Education and Experience Required:

BS degree in computer science or equivalent in 4 - 8 years of hands-on experience developing commercial software products in one of the following areas: Enterprise Database Applications or Internet Applications.
Understanding and detailed experience with most of the following: Oracle, C++, .NET, C, XML, MFC, COM, HTML, Java Script, User Interface Design, MS IIS, MS Transaction Server.
