Description
This position is with a manufacturer of equipment used in the automotive industry. The Software Engineer will be responsible for research, design, and development of the software pertaining to control functions of the equipment produced by the company. Some essential functions include: software improvements on the electronic and embedded control aspects of the companyâ??s equipment; writing applicable codes and software using C/C++, Borland C++ Builder; writing software for controllers; applying new web based Internet protocols and procedures for future applications; and debugging and updating the C code of old and current products. Experience/Skills
Education: BS â?? Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

Required skills: 3+ years C/C++ experience. Must have experience writing: Windows based applications; software for Internet applications (TCP/IT, HTML, etc); databases (SQL), embedded applications; and must have Ethernet software and hardware experience. Some travel may be required, to provide Engineering support.

Desired skills: Any experience with the following is a plus: Borland C++ Builder; routers, hubs, firewalls and their associated software; network and Internet security issues and solutions; experience writing dlls, creating components, GUI applications for Windows, Windows drivers; XML, JAVA; Industrial networks (Echelon); PIC chips, 8051 family; serial based protocols (RS232C, 485, 422).
