This individual would be responsible for the following:
Develops, tests, and documents software programs including operating systems, applications, and/or network products. Responsibilities include coding, editing, documentation and debugging of communication software based upon customer requirements. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Constructs and aids in the design of new software systems by utilizing design tools and software systems.
2. Determines hardware, software and system requirements for newly developed software by examining design criteria, system feasibility and capabilities, and making judgments based on past education and experience.
3. Improves and maintains existing software systems by utilizing software development tools and compilers to produce reasonably usable and maintainable executables and source code.
4. Fixes existing and newly discovered issues with software systems by using standard debugging and investigative tools to reproduce and fix problems.
5. Maintains software documentation and resources by creating and maintaining release notes, system specifications and design documentation.
6. Works with Test Engineers to provide access to software, system and documentation to facilitate product testing and release by providing software and hardware release packages, with appropriate release notes and documentation, to aid in the quality assurance and testing of the systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be capable of coordinating a group engineers to achieve a desired goal, and/or final product. They must be capable of managing resources and time lines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 4-6 years related software development experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be competent in software architecture and design. Must have the ability to utilize software development tools and compilers in a variety of required programming languages and programming environments including; C, C++, VB, .NET, Windows, and Windows CE.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in word processing software; spreadsheet software; accounting software and database software.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be eligible to work in the US. Must be willing to relocate if necessary to Northern Nevada.df-tc
