Description
Robert Half Technology is accepting applications for a six month contract as a Software Engineer to join our client's team building an entirely new architecture for their online business. This new system will incorporate multiple parts of the organization and have an interface/portal for customers. This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of a team working on new development and integration issues with new web technology.
    Description:
  • The Software Engineer is to provide analysis, design and development as well as integration of any of the software features needed for current and future product releases by the software development department for our client.
  • The Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis of business, engineering and scientific problems and is charged with the documentation and development of well-defined methods, procedures and programs in the delivery of practical systems solutions.
  • The Software Engineer is challenged with assisting in programming, troubleshooting and management of problems affecting IT software, as well as developing these areas for future expansion and sustaining the highest system reliability and performance possible.
  • Conceives, creates, develops establishes and publishes new programming techniques, methods, procedures, approaches and standards working with basic and advanced applications system design techniques and methodologies.
  • Confers with stakeholders during the analysis, definition and development phases and studies effectiveness of systems flow, data usage and manual or automated processes to identify ineffective or inefficient systems.
  • Maintains awareness of state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, problem solving techniques and computing equipment.

Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent technical degree in computer science or related field and 5+ years of programming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and additional programming experience.
  • 5+ years .NET professional experience (v2.0/3.0/3.5).
  • 2+ years Microsoft Windows forms, services experience.
  • 1+ year web services development experience utilizing html, javascript and CSS.
  • 1+ year Infragistics control development experience (Windows Forms preferred).
  • Proven Object Oriented Programming skillset.
  • Expert in programming with C#, ASP.NET, VB, SQL, XML.
  • Experience using Source Control.
  • UML, Agile/XP with other software process experience.
  • Experience integrating third-party software via web services and or integrated programming.
  • Experience working with outside vendors utilizing programming and project management skills.
  • Able to take initiative and work independently while demonstrating flexibility, good judgment and common sense. Must multitask, prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of people at various levels within the membership and organization – all while maintaining a patient, positive, friendly. and professional demeanor.
