* Software engineer responsible for definition, development and integration of real time application software for use in train communication and control systems.

* May also be required to develop/maintain Microsoft Windows support applications developed with Visual C++/MFC.

* Will participate in system engineering and system test activities.

* Will use configuration management tools to control software and changes to software.

Qualifications

* BSEE or BSCS required.

* At least 5+ years experience in real time software application development required.

* Experience with MQX, QNX or other significant RTOS required.

* Experience with version control system such as PVCS required.

Eligibility Requirements:

* Must submit application for employment through gecareers.com to be considered.

* Must be 18 years or older.

* Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.

* Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.

* Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

* May be required to travel to customer locations for requirements definition and integration activities. Travel is anticipated to be no more than 15%.

* If currently a GE employee, must have been in current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating.

* Railroad equipment domain knowledge.

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

* Must be able to work in a team environment.
