SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for analysis, design, coding and unit testing of assigned development projects.
This is a mid level position within the Software Development group.The ideal candidate will possess the ability to take ownership of projects and ensure successful on-time delivery of project.The Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of new products and applications as well as the maintenance and enhancements of existing legacy applications.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research architectural issues within existing applications
Recognize problems with existing legacy applications and suggest improvements.
Design and code enhancements
Research and provide resolution for 4th tier production support issues
Performance analysis for applications and platforms
Integrate 3rd party applications
Participate in creating software development processes and standards
Understand end user business needs and ensure they are met in software application development and delivery
Perform detailed design specifications from requirement definitions, Program Change Requests and other sources for projects of any level of complexity
Refinement of business requirements.
Provide estimates that closely match actual efforts to construct and unit test
Escalate issues to leads and/or managers as appropriate
Participate in Operational Reviews
Participate in Design and Code Reviews

Education and Typical Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in software development.

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

Experienced in the following languages: C#.Net, Web Development, ASP.Net, ASP, COM+, and VB6
Experienced with multi-tier web development, Windows services and Winforms applicationsExperienced with Object Oriented Analysis(OOA)

Experienced with Object Oriented Design (OOD)
Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases
Demonstrated ability to design and develop complex products in Client Server and Web based architectures

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:


Reports to Development Manager.Coordinates activities with Product Management, Software Test and CM, TMI management and others as required by assigned projects.
