Description
Getting results and providing technical leadership in designing, programming and implementing conveyor control systems and the related electrical equipment, based on system knowledge, project specifications and the departmental design procedures and guidelines, on schedule and within the specified budget. Reviews electrical layouts, control panel layouts, I/O lists, bills of material, and wiring diagrams with the design engineers.Reviews the electrical description of operation, based on proposal information, customer specifications, mechanical layouts, and information gathered at design review meetings and from the Project Manager.Uses department standard designs in hardware and programming wherever possible, to achieve lowest cost and highest quality for the project. Uses innovative ideas to control new or special equipment, or novel situations, when required.Writes, documents, implements and debugs software required for correct system operation.Reviews documentation for technical accuracy.Works with Project Managers to resolve discrepancies between proposals, customer specifications, and practical limitations.Set direction for self and providing direction assistance and training for other Controls Engineering Department employees assigned to the project.Taking initiative to coordinate with other department’s activities required for project completion. These departments include Project Management, Order Entry, Installation, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Development, Sales, and Accounting.Takes the initiative to feed back information to members of management so as to enhance’s success.Adhering to all department and company standard operating procedures and contributing in their improvement.Bring adequate technical expertise and experience to bear on design problems, such that projects can be completed with almost no technical assistance.Tasks are expected to be performed with minimal supervision.Other related job duties as assigned.df-tc
