Description
This position involves the Design development and production support of software used in various items of Automated Test Equipment for checkout of flight hardware. It requires: knowledge of required methods to design, develop,and debug software programs; experience working with and configuring various computer operating systems; experience developing simple programs or scripts; knowledge of structured software analysis/structured software design; knowledge of development of software test plans and test cases; and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance. The successful candidate will posess knowledge of basic digital electronic circuit theory and use of standard electronic laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes and multimeters. Knowledge of Object oriented analysis and design, real-time operating systems, C, C++, Assembly, Databases, Java, CORBA, Linux, and embedded software is desirable.

General Position Description
Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Typical Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.
