Software Engineering ManagerLocation : Huntington Beach, CA Description:Position DescriptionManage the Future Combat Systems (FCS) Software and Distributed Systems Integration (SDSI) Software Requirements team. This team is responsible for developing and managing distributed systems software requirements and specifications for over $2 billion of software. Principal product is development of the program's major software system specification (SSS), the FCS Battle Command System (BCS), and eleven child software subsystem specifications. The BCS is complex system controlling the mission systems and interfaces to vehicle functions for all FCS platforms. It is implemented in six builds and integrated into 20 platforms over four engineering increments. Candidate will need to work with the customer, other Integrated Product Team (IPT) software engineering teams, and software development partners to horizontally and vertically integrate the system and software requirements. Directly manage a team of 15-20 engineers and managers distributed across multiple program sites and indirectly manage another 15-20 engineers and managers in the software development teams. Team is responsible for development of requirements for sensor processing and fusion, situation awareness and understanding, mission planning and execution, and warfighter-machine interface. Collaborate with other teams to develop requirements for specialty engineering, information assurance, design constraints, interoperability, internal and external interfaces, and end-to-end performance. Competently represent the Software and Distributed Systems Integration (SDSI) team in management and system/software engineering discussions and major reviews. Provide leadership and guidance on software development to full FCS Lead System Integration (LSI) team and be able to demonstrate the Boeing Leadership Attributes.
