Description
The selected candidate will manage the Technical Support Team within the Technical Vitality and Support Group (TVSG) at Maritime Systems and Sensors-Tactical Systems, Eagan. The selected candidate must have had project leadership experience and be committed to establishing best practice in Engineering tools development/selection and support and the principles of the CMMI and other similar standards in all engineering disciplines across the Engineering organization. Responsibilities include oversight of the establishment and maintenance of tool and process environments within Engineering projects, toward the goal of improving the process and tool environment within projects to reduce risk and avoid cost while supporting performance, and assessing performance of and appropriately coaching employees. Expectations for the position include creative problem solving as well as good writing skills, good people skills, and the ability to work in team situations.

General Position Description
Manages multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the determination of computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Typical Minimum Education
Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
