Description
This position is for a first line manager of the Battle Management Software Development department for the C2BMC program. Individual will manage a 12 person team to prototype and develop a Battle Management Capability that integrates current Missile Defense Systems such as GMD, THAAD, and PAC3. Required knowledge and experience includes: the software development life cycle; cost and schedule management; cost and schedule variance analysis; development and measurement of software productivity; support of internal and external program reviews; CMMI software maturity model; effective inspection process; understanding and support to metrics collection and analysis; development of training plans; staffing; employee career development including promotion planning; and coaching and mentoring.



Successful candidates will have significant experience in the development of complex software systems with a focus on Java development.



Travel will be required.



General Position Description
Manages multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the determination of computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Typical Minimum Education
Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
