Position Title: Software Engineering Technician
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Cartography Team Leader
Shift: First Shift
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Olathe, KS
Position Summary: Assist in the development of software for Garmins communication and navigation products in a team-oriented environment.

Essential Functions:
Assist Software Engineers and Cartography Supervisors as needed in developing and maintaining software and cartography products in accordance with Garmins development methodologies
Assist in the development of installation scripts and procedures for PC-based cartographic products at the direction of the Cartography Team Leader
Assist in final quality assurance checking of PC-based cartographic products
Provide basic computer support to Cartography team members as needed

Other Responsibilities:
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or sufficient relevant
Excellent academics (composite GPA 3.0)
Experience and/or training in high level computer languages such as C and C++ as well as experience in working with Microsoft Windows environments
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Other education and/or experiences as required for the specific projects he/she will work on
