Description
You will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, debugging and modifications of software for electric motor controls and other electronic controls for heavy equipment. Using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, etc., you will analyze and simulate requirements; determine design approaches and parameters; troubleshoot embedded software applications; work closely with electronic design engineering to optimize hardware performance; design and implement software for new and/or existing electric motor control products; develop models of electric motors and control algorithms to aid in the implementation of the software design; and travel as required to accomplish the tasks of this position. Experience/Skills
Education: 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.

Required Skills: 3+ years experience as a practicing Engineer in the development of vehicle electric motion control software and systems; solid understanding of motor control methods and theory; comprehensive knowledge of motor control algorithms and software for BLDC, PMAC, induction and switched reluctance motors. The ability to model and simulate electric motor drive systems and control theory; adapt motor and motor control hardware, software, and mechanical packaging to mobile equipment applications; power circuit software design and development including DC/DC, AC/DC and DC/AC converters, inverters and motor drives; and experience using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, etc. Travel is required for this position.
