Description
The Software Performance Test Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) has successfully applied and has comprehensive understanding of multiple performance testing and quality processes, principles, measurements and reports throughout the software development and/or infrastructure production support processes, on both sides of the Quality "V" model. The Software Performance Test Engineer has the ability to apply his/her performance testing knowledge and experience to any stage of a project. This individual has led performance testing efforts on multiple projects and will be a performance testing consultant for the organization.

The Software Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for -

Process and Standards:
Collaborate with others while owning creation and maintenance of performance testing standards and processes

Assure these standards and processes are effective, understandable, practical, proven AND that they are periodically reviewed for effectiveness

Maintain all performance standards, processes, templates and related artifacts in a central asset library for all to easily utilize

Implement test process metrics

Education/Enablement and Awareness:
Participate in the product customization, creation, coordination, and perform training in support of performance testing

Support project teams with performance test execution

Implement and support the use of Mercury LoadRunner on projects as needed/upon request

Provide consulting and mentoring

Testing Tools:
Standardize offering of Mercury LoadRunner

Participate in planning and implementation of tools

Create reports

Integrate between competencies to create leverage (functional testing, configuration management, requirements, etc.)

Execution:
Create performance framework

Help gather performance requirements

Develop and monitor performance test plan and business availability plan

Collaborate with others to organize teams of people to perform performance testing and business availability tasks

Coordinate all tasks surrounding performance, stress and scale testing

Conduct all performance, stress and scale test coding

Run the tests

Create, analyze, and publish usable reportsdf-tc
