Description
Our client located in the Pittsburgh, PA area has an exciting opportunity for a Mid Level Software Quality Assurance Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and testing software applications, including reviewing software modifications and enhancements and conducting testing for issues, enhancements and releases. It also includes performing business analysis, gathering user specifications and participating in project teams, and some project management. Key job elements include:

. Provide end-to-end testing of Software applications.

. Write test plans, test cases and test scripts for tracking defects and fixes.

. Conduct Functional, Integration, Regression, UAT testing.

. Automate test plans, test cases and test scripts within automated testing tools.

. Test and certify software defect fixes and new functionality and reviews test summary reports.

. Assist Product Support with analysis and verification of software defects reported to determine validity and clarification.

. Create and maintain quality system documents and records, e.g. flowcharts, procedures, forms, templates, spreadsheets, presentations.

. Gather and analyze project metrics in support of business cases, planned projects, and requirements and communicates findings to Project Management.

. Work with co-workers to determine software specifications and defects.

. Business analysis of information requirements for defects and enhancements and works with others on team to determine software specifications and defects.

. Write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software.

Required skills for consideration include:

. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related area

. 3-4 years of Quality Assurance Experience

. Understanding of source code for applications written in C, Java, .Net, Unix, and SQL

. Good analytical and problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and customer service skills

. SQL and Relational Database knowledge such as Informix and SQL Server

. Understanding of flowcharts, UML, XML, DataFlow and other Software Engineering diagrams

. Ability to design and develop Ad-Hoc Reports

. Preferred - Knowledge of Education Industry operations such as Student Financial Aid, Academic Services, Career Services, Admissions & Marketing and Student Services
