Dimension & Scope:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for achieving Six Sigma objectives of an assigned Department. This individual will devote 75% of time to Six Sigma Quality Projects and 25% mentoring and training of assigned Greenbelts. The Quality Engineer will drive projects focused upon key business processes that influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth cost effectiveness and product/system quality.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure adherence to the Convergys Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Author formal plans, protocols and reports for application verification and validation for FDA quality system compliance
• Assist functional and technical teams in authoring requirements specifications
• Assist functional and technical teams in authoring test scripts while ensuring Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Perform quality assurance reviews for executed test scripts including confirmation of requirements and completeness of requirement trace matrices
• Collaborate with Functional Business and Technical Leads to trace pre-determined solution requirements
• Identify, document, and bring to closure quality and compliance risks
• Ensure individuals supporting implementations and maintenance are trained for participation in validation activities
• Participate in client facing activity as related to verification and validation acitity as required

• Utilize Six Sigma leadership tools to drive projects focused upon key business processes that influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness, and product/system quality.
• Responsible for the achievement of Six Sigma objectives as they pertain to the Employee Care Excellence initiative.
• Report status and completion of assigned Six Sigma projects to Quality Director for inclusion in facility's Six Sigma reporting system.
• Responsible for coordinated efforts with finance to justify R.O.I. on Six Sigma projects.
• Accountable for completion of four Six Sigma projects annually with a minimum $1 million of returned value to the organization. Develop and mentor Greenbelts as to project selection and proper execution.
• Provide performance feedback to other Black Belts, Green Belts and their manager.
• Support all aspects of Six Sigma deployments and reporting of project status and benefits.

Education & Professional Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university with eight to ten years related experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience. Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

Candidate Profile:
At least seven (7) years quality/process improvement experience. Process engineering, with a demonstrated track records in process improvement, process design and change management. Experience with project management and organizational balanced scorecards. Experience with process improvement software applications (MiniTab, Visio, Process for Six Sigma, SPC, Balanced Scorecard, etc.)Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others positively. Demonstrated group problem solving facilitation and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to quantify improvement efforts financially and service quality. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply statistical tools and methods to problem solving in a quality or process improvement arena. Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and a Team Leader. Strong analytical, computer, communication and project management skills. Self-starter with solid leadership qualities.Must have proficiency with various software applications including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
