Description
Title: Software Release Engineer
Position Summary:
Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the product release software delivery pipeline, from development through customer release. Provide expertise to expand the existing build system by improving current procedures through documentation and development and/or purchase of build and deployment tools. This position is part of the SW Tools and Release Engineering group within the R&D organization. The environment is fast paced so the ability to be responsible for multiple products is a must.
Responsibilities:
* Work with MS Windows Installer using InstallShield for critical tasks associated with installation algorithms, build systems and product releases.
* Lead projects necessary to create processes and documentation required to support release infrastructure and deployment.
* Provide distribution media for release
* Ensure proper archiving for re-identification and reproducibility of product releases
* Work in conjunction with the Development and QA teams to maintain and improve multiple product and multiple project development environments.
* Work closely with Technical leads, QA Team and Program managers to ensure environments meet project needs.
* Assist in the development and enhancing of existing tools for the build environment.


Essential Skills:
* 2-4 years experience with industrial software development processes
* B.S in Computer Science or equivalent
* Develop InstallShield installation packages and build product release media, including product media and downloadable editions
* Expertise writing installers – specifically InstallShield MSI
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Proficient in writing scripts
* A working knowledge of Windows environments
* Good verbal and written English communication skills
* Teamwork skills
* Proven ability developing tools and procedures in support of release management processes and tools
* C++ programming
