Summary:
The Requirements and Testing Analyst is responsible for requirements analysis, application documentation, and test case development for new software applications as well as application enhancements. The Analyst is responsible for research related to trouble tickets as well as regression testing of multiple applications. This analyst works closely with project managers, business users, and software development team.

Major Activities

30% Requirements Analysis – Takes direction from the Project Manager for project implementation of new business applications. Gathers requirements and documents specifications for development team. Uses specification documents for creating testing definition requirements.

20% Problem Research – Regression tests existing applications and researches trouble tickets. Performs ad hoc analysis, using SQL and other tools to evaluate data and its use within an application. Also uses data analysis tools to generate test data for high-volume testing needs.

30% Testing – Participates with test planning and develops test cases. Uses SQL query tools for data mining and research. Prepares test data for batch and real-time applications. Tests batch and web-based application software. Evaluates actual results, prepares defect documentation and coordinates modifications with developers. Ensures that applications produce accurate output and that standard quality assurance steps are followed.

20% Documentation preparation and client deliverables including business requirements, testing results, training documentation, and/or system documentation.

Education:

Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science, or management information systems, or comparable industry experience or education.

Experience:

Industry Experience - Experience in medical or pharmaceutical industry or involvement with business applications related to benefits planning and eligibility, medical claims processing, or pharmacy claims processing in the commercial or government sector is required. equivalent educational experience may be substituted for this requirement.

1-3 years experience working in a business development IT environment or equivalent education experience.

Candidate must have at least two years experience with Microsoft products, including, Word, Excel, FoxPro, Access, SQL Server, or other database software.

Technical Skills - One or more years experience using SQL for data analysis, export, or data mining. Demonstrated knowledge of SQL Server queries is highly preferred.

Time Management – Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is required. Candidate must be flexible, well organized and able to work well under pressure. Candidate must work well without close supervision.

Communication Skills – Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must have ability to translate needs of business users to technical staff.
