Position Title: Software Solution Designer

**The client is a leading provider of education, training and certification for securities, insurance, and financial services professionals and corporations.**

*Job Description: Solution Architect is responsible for providing technical and architectural leadership
within project teams in support of our development initiatives. A Solution Architect will provide strong end-to-end leadership in the analysis, design and delivery of solutions as well as triage and investigation of Complex and Critical Tier 3 technical support issues. A Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring the project team follows design parameters and accepted design methodologies and principles.
Candidate must be willing to code and work with a sense of urgency!

As Solution Architect, you will be responsible for:
â?¢ Collaborate with Sr. Architect, other Solution Architects/Senior Developers and Application Development teams to analyze, design/enhance and implement enterprise-level applications and deliver on product and project objectives
â?¢ Serve as lead technical resource for developers on â??assigned toâ? projects and define the architectural approach and high-level design for the project
â?¢ Work with Development teams on â??assigned toâ? projects to facilitate requirements analysis, identify detailed application design and development tasks, create work plans and monitor/review progress of projects, be responsible for determining the overall structure of the solution and ensure consistency across all project work
â?¢ Work with Product Managers and Development Managers to ensure assigned-to project goals are met within expected timelines
â?¢ Collaborate with the Sr. Architect and other resources on Standards Group to create and maintain the technology architecture and standards
â?¢ Provide guidance and mentoring on technology architecture for development staff
â?¢ Create technical documentation regarding architectural standards and implementation of architectural components
â?¢ Prepare and deliver architecture and design presentations to development staff

Requirements:
â?¢ Bachelors in CS/MIS or equivalent experience
â?¢ 7+ years in software application design and development
JAVA/J2EE development experience or equivalent developing exp.
â?¢ 5+ years experience participating and providing technical leadership on software development projects and teams
â?¢ 5+ years experience with formal development methodologies
â?¢ Extensive experience with Data Modeling and database design
â?¢ High degree of competency in requirements gathering and process design.
â?¢ Possess strong ability to partner, develop results-supporting relationships, and negotiate complex and often contentious issues and work through people to achieve goals
â?¢ Proven track record of delivery and commitments to customers and management/leadership effectiveness
â?¢ Strong familiarity with Object Oriented analysis, design and development
â?¢ Strong familiarity with Modeling tools such as MS Visio, Enterprise Architect and ERWin
â?¢ Strong development experience with the following languages (HTML, DHTML, XML, SQL)
â?¢ Excellent understanding of coding methods, debugging, documentation, and best practices.
â?¢ Experience working in highly matrixed organization
â?¢ Strong Multi-tasking skills.
â?¢ Highly self motivated and directed.
â?¢ Must be detailed oriented and able to meet customer and project management deadlines, including working off hours to accomplish project objectives.
â?¢ Proven written and oral communication skills. Communicates effectively (frequently, unambiguously, and professionally) in meetings, email, and informal discussions.
