We have an immediate need for a Software Systems Engineer III

JOB DESCRIPTION
Work location of Colorado Springs preferred (most clients the person will be dealing with on a regular basis are based in Colorado Springs), but not required

Requirements:
- EXCELLENT understanding of configuration management and the software development lifecycle in the client server hardware environment
- STRONG working knowledge of the VMS operating system and the CMS configuration management tool

The candidate should be prepared to quickly become familiar with the existing approach to configuration management process for Business VMS based applications and be able to work with the existing staff to identify any opportunities to streamline and/or automate that structure
The candidate should also have strong written and oral communication skills and be comfortable working in an aggressive development environment

Works on projects with a large scope and great technical complexity
Resolves a wide variety of problems ranging from simple to highly complex
Requires a high degree of judgment and discretion to select the appropriate method or technique and to interpret applicable operating policies and practices

Normally receives general instructions on non-routine work assignments
Requires additional instructions and guidance on more complex, new assignments
Decisions are made independently
Assigned multiple projects are generally reviewed after completion

Contact is typically coordinative in nature and involves exchanging detailed technical information
May deal with both internal and external contacts

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge in job-related functional area and of the business

Bachelors degree, or equivalent, and 5-6 years job-related experience

NOTES: Work location of Colorado Springs preferred but not required The requirements for this position include a firm understanding of configuration management and the software development lifecycle in the client server hardware environment
