The Disneyland Resort has a current opening for a Software Support Analyst.The Software Support Analyst will primarily be responsible for system administration, configuration and providing computer hardware and software support for Scientific Systems' control systems. Software support includes identifying, loading and configuring all appropriate software. Hardware support includes troubleshooting computer hardware problems down to a sub-system level and arranging appropriately for repairs. Must have strong ?people skills? to facilitate good communication with a diverse clientele. Must have the ability to juggle priorities that can quickly shift based on potential guest impact, and project deadlines.

CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manages the software release process for Scientific Systems applications.
Resolves/troubleshoots computer-based problems and issues related to Scientific Systems' control systems, in the field and in the office. Works to expedite problem resolutions and communicate verbally or in writing to the appropriate staff and other customers. Often expected to rebuild a computer system.
Responsible for cataloging/installation/coordination of version upgrades from software vendors. Ensures that all PC users are using the appropriate version of software.Oversees the installation of custom PC software into development and production PCs.
Participates in obsolescence planning of software and hardware components used by Scientific Systems applications.
Prepares weekly status reports, documents equipment and software inventories and documents problem resolutions for shared lessons-learned and future reference.

* Performs other appropriate functions as directed by appropriate management.


TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* 1-2 years experience as a Computer Support Analyst or equivalent user support position.
* 3+ years experience working with PCs and 2+ years working with networks.
* Experience with microcomputers such as PC104s and embedded systems, or Plus would be a plus.
* Microsoft Certified Professional certifications are highly desirable.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems required [DOS through most current OS]; Linux and other operating systems knowledge would be a plus.
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Development suites.




EDUCATION, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Bachelor's Degree in computer-related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proficient ability to troubleshoot computer problems (hardware and software).
Advanced knowledge of a wide range of desktop operating systems and software.
Advanced knowledge of system and LAN administration.
